This will not amount to discrimination in any way. If you are not able to show the proof that you are legally entitled to staying in the country for the coming 3-5 years (and many people here are extending their H1 status every year) it will be very risky for a lender to extend a 15-30 year mortgage to you.
As a matter of fact in a very competitive market lenders most likely won't turn your application down, but will make you pay more in interest, which again does not qualify as any kind of discrimination.
I was approved a mortgage app. at very competetive rates... you can be asked by a lender whether you are a permanent resident or citizen or not, but you cannot be turned away just because your GC is still in the works.
And if someone does choose to leave the country for some reason, they sell the property or put it on rent. Hopefully, they would have bought intelligently enough so that in case they need to put the property on rent, the rent would cover the mortgage!

From your case alone this is rather a sweeping judgment. I can assure you they do NOT process based on receipt date if they did my husbands EAD which was received on May 3rd would be approved by now and yours would not. He is still waiting thirteen weeks on.

My immigration status is H1 (485 pending EB2/INDIA). I am on the verge of completing my 2 year Masters in Computer Information Systems (MS-CIS) from Missouri State in Springfield, Missouri. I did not want to start a new thread for this. But I had earlier last month contacted many senators with the official I-485 pending inventory as proof and asking them whether it was humane, ethical and moral to ask someone wait more than 15 years for a green card! And what they are doing to remedy the situation.
This is the reply I received today from Sen. Frank Lautenberg. May be this is very standard format, I am not sure but it does mention specific bill and recapture provision.

Ok, since immigration is taking a back seat because of the IRAQ war, please explain how does it make him a wonderful president? He is responsible for so many lives bc of the war. If he did not spend billions of tax payer money on iraq, when there were no weapons of mass distruction and/or saddam was not an imminent danger to the united states, don't you think we would have better use of our tax payer's dollars.
Just beacuse he is pro immigration does not make him the best president (he cannot pass the bill on his own u know, eventhough "he is the decider"). What is the point he can be pro immigration for all people care but his republican party is not too thrilled with him and will not pass an amnesty bill. What has he done for the enviornment? He believes that there is nothing called global warming. So please just because he is pro-illegals, pro free trade does not qualify him as the best president.

I see people disliking him, but to be fair to him, that man had some very good ideas when he became the president. He was unlucky that 9-11 happened when he was just 9 months into presidency and inexperienced, but his response was good, and it was wrong for him to go into Iraq as the reasons were all wrong. That was a huge mistake, probably in-expereince, wrong advisors, oil lobby, and some of the fear from 9-11, all contributed to that decision.
Overall, he has done more in terms of changing things, and has started debates on more controversial issues than anyone before. He has done more for the world trade, es[ecially countries like India, China and Brazil. He has gone beyond racial and gender factors, as reflected in choice of his staff and advisors.
Debates have to be started before anything happens and sometime it takes years, even after the presidency is over.
It's easy to blame him for everything as he is the face we see. I am not a Bush supporter, but actually a huge Clinton fan, but I think we tend to be overly unfair to the man. He has an office that comes with blames, sometimes decisions are not easy and you could go wrong either way. I think he tends to err on side of doing more than less, while Clinton was opposite and kept things stable, but also didnot start changes or lay grounds for change to take place.
As a president I think he has probably done more, or sets things in motion, more than Clinton did. Sometimes things need changing, and initial in-stability goes with the change.

Well...my PD is current and my RD at Nebraska is also current as per thier processing times. But still no LUDs or any other updates so far :( (its been 19 days since my PD became current)
I already spoke to USCIS IO one week back, and was told its a bit too early, and wait for 45 days and call back if nothing happens until then. They weren't willing to give me the status whether my Namecheck crossed 180 days.
Just going to wait until April 1, and then call them again. Or get an INFOPASS . What do the gurus suggest?
[EB3 - I , PD May 2001, RD July 30 07, Nebraska ]

The lawyers had the Ozzie degree, as well as the US CPA evaluated via an accredited foreign degree evaluator. This was back in the summer of �06. Again, invest a few extra $$ and hire a good lawyer. They can best explain the process / prerequisites to you.

Yes forwarded the copy to the lawyer this morning.I have an appointment with lawyer Friday morning regarding this..So for lawyer office didn't received anything from uscis.
Here is my backround
1)Worked for Company A from 2003 to 2008.
2)Company A applied I-140 and approved April 2006. AOS 485 filed on July 2007. Got EAD but never used it
3)September 2008 I have Joined employer “B” by transferring H1B (Valid until Aug 21st 2010).
4)Employer A revoked 140 which triggered 485 denials in October 2008.
5)Applied MTR and it was approved in NOVEMBER 2008 and 485 re-opened.
This is the only major concern I have.Though I have approved MTR and 485 re-opened, but my online status of 485 still showing denied.
My AP approved last month.......my wife EAD,AP approved last month.I am the primary..strange
I know I have moderate control over this situation.Just having good faith & hope.This whole thing H1-B,DL,GC,EAD,AP & visa stamping ..etc what a pain for some people.Very sad.For uscis error(485 denial wrongly) I am not only lost money( closee to 5k) also lost "n" no of days of sleep back in 2008 and now :mad:

There should be a way to appeal. Talk to your employer and attorney and get their advice. Until you get the paper/reason for denial, you may not get solid advice. But in the mean while, get all the documents ready, like pay stubs, tax docs, client letter, contract docs, etc... That way you will have all needed docs in hand and can appeal the denial as soon as you get the denial reason.
Are you working full-time or consulting? If it is consulting, then may the latest employer-employee relationship memo played its role.
Key is stay calm and consider every possible way. Your fellow IV-ians here can feel the pain that you go through. We wish your issue gets resolved quickly.
